The Heavenly Sign, Announcement of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as), The Promised Messiah
“O my dears, the man who was to come, has already come. Even the sun and the moon have disclosed this secret to you.”
In the year 1891, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) claimed to be
the Promised Messiah.
God Almighty manifested this heavenly Sign in the year 1894 C.E when the lunar and solar eclipses occurred over Qadian, India, on the specified dates of Ramadan in fulfillment of the grand prophecy of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (as).
The lunar eclipse occurred after sunset on the 13th of Ramadan (March 21, 1894) and the solar eclipse occurred on Friday, the 28th of Ramadan (April 6, 1894).
“At the time of these eclipses there was no claimant to being the Promised Mahdi anywhere in the world except me, nor did anyone claim these eclipses as the Sign of his being the Promised Mahdi and publish hundreds of announcements and booklets in Urdu, Arabic, and Persian to support his claim; therefore, this heavenly Sign is specifically appointed for me.”
God sent Ahmad as, like Jesus as, to reinstitute morality, justice and peace on earth. Divinely guided, he began an unprecedented religious revival by explaining Islam’s true teachings, and the true teachings of all the great religious founders, such as Abraham (as), Moses (as), Jesus (as), Krishna (as), Buddha (as) and Confucius (as). He explained how these teachings converged into the true Islam and toward One God.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was founded in 1889 by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, who claimed to be the long-awaited Messiah foretold by the Prophet Muhammad (sa), and by all world religions.
